Thursday, Feb. 27 Paris. Goody Dear, - Your letter arrived just as I was about to write you for fear it was my turn instead of yours. Daphne had previously told me that you had turned drummer but here was the evidence in a letter on hotel stationery. And the Del Monico at that! In Preston, Iowa! Voeston must be class. The "drumming" you have taken up is about the nicest sort I can imagine. I hope you find it agreeable and profitable. Already I have heard that you are making a good go of it. I can understand why you would much prefer doing it than to teach music under the conditions around Cedar Rapids. Only think! A week from today, if all goes as I expect, I shall finish my assignment here, and the next day I shall leave for casual
