family wouldn't mind doing without us a few months, and we'd have our second honeymoon in France, which in the spring and summer would be wonderful. But I suppose it is idle to think of such a thing; it couldn't be done unless I had a good job here and the only good jobs I know of are in the army and carry with them the obligation for a man to do without his wife.
