us indoors, but we had a rattling good time - telling fables before the fireplace last night and making music to-day. As usual in these gatherings you were frequently spoken of with a wish that you were there. I told the Sanborns about my Tribune offer and got them all excited at the prospect of your coming over. They vow we'll have to spend every week-end with them. There was no news up to the time I left yesterday afternoon. Tonight I got back too late to hear anything. I'm hoping that tomorrow morning I'll get the verdict from Chicago. I want to get something settled one way or another. If the Tribune proposition does not pan out I certainly am going to resume the offensive to get home. I'm worried for fear the turn of affairs in
