So when we left the subway we were right before the church where the services were to be held, and there is always a push cart of flowers before the church. The old woman in charge was on to her job. She saw the carriages and knew there was a funeral, so her flowers went up to three times the value of them. We were indignant, and walked away from her toward another wagon that was so covered with flowers that we were almost ready to negotiate with the driver before we saw it was the hearse.
