all the way to the cemetary, two miles & a half at least. Of course the mourners wore no hats and as Conger & Almer were placed immediately after the family, they couldn't look around and see what others were doing. So they, to, walked bareheaded in the blistering sun, and every one tho't how fond they must have been of the "deader" to pay him so much respect. I wanted to yell, "Hey, Skinney! Put on yer lid," but of course I couldn't. At the cemetary everything was too horrible to describe. Every one
