they were gone I swept the house, made a prune whip for dinner tonight, steamed pudding in chocolate sauce for lunch, prepared lunch and made up our bed room. I left Norris' room for the maid. And after lunch, Conger went to the office so I made out the menu for dinner and prepared the shopping list for "Aleece". Of course this must be done in French so it takes a week for me, whereas Conger could write it off in a jiffy. We are trying to keep account of every purchase so we can figure out whether it is more expensive for us to shop than to have the maid do it. Generally things cost the rich Americans more than anyone else. I wish you could see the "bird man" up over the roof. He has been playing around a long time
