Thursday afternoon. "And that isn't the half of it, dearie", as Almer Sanborn always says. The man is a Jew! He works for Conger. Here is the terrible truth! There is a Concert Thurs. afternoon which I very much want to hear, having heard no good music in a monkey's age. Conger can't get off and he found that Mr. Stolz was going to the concert, it being his day off. So we bought my seat next to Stolz's and I shall go to the office Thurs. with Conger, and from there to the concert with Stolz. It is in a section of Paris where I couldn't very well go alone - and wouldn't. I can think of things I'd rather do than go with Stolz - which proves that I am not broad minded and tolerant as I should be, I suppose. I suppose - changing the subject - you are sitting by a roaring fire either in the range or in the dining room. I wish I might sit down in your kitchen and stick my feet in the oven. That is one of
