hunted for four hours yesterday. At the end of that time she came in carrying ten sticks for which she had paid the equivalent of $2.00. So nearly every day I go down town with Conger. They have coal & wood at the office, and I suggested one day that he bring home a suitcase full, as Mr. Gibbons and Mr. Lewis do every few days. He gave me quite a sermon, and I shall never mention it to him again, believe me. I am not as good as Conger is, by a long way. I'd bring home some wood or coal in a hurry. If the Chicago office want to keep a force here, they are supposed to support it. Having some sort of a pull, they can get fuel. Of course, it is paid for by the Chi. office, and Conger is as much entitled to it as either Gibbons or Lewis. However (comma - dash - ) I love Conger more for being so square, even tho I shall probably freeze fast to the floor some day. Do you get tired of hearing our troubles? That is really all there is to talk about
