Col. McCormick keeps them all on the jump. Floyd G. told Conger that the Col. was very pleased with the work Conger has been doing, and liked him personally. I met the Col. but I have never even seen Mrs. Mc. or the niece who is here with them. Of course that isn't strange because they are such high society birds that they don't often condescend to common folks, I suppose. Tomorrow, however, they are entertaining every man, woman and child belonging to the Paris edition, at a luncheon at the Ritz. That will cost them a neat little sum because the Ritz is a very high class place, but they'll never miss it, out of their several millions. Even the errand boys are invited. There is one very funny little chap, not much larger than John, and not a great deal older. He has the reddest of hair and his name is Fernand. The boys at the office call him "Inferno" instead
