Saving...
Christmas, 1919. Dearest Dad and Mumsie,- Daphne and I are completing our Christmas by writing to our pa and mas. It has been a quiet day for us, but as happy as it could be so far from our 'lovids. It goes without saying that we have missed and wanted all of you, and thought of you lovingly and devotedly. We got up late - nearly noon, in fact, had "state" breakfast on Rosa's pancakes, then drew the curtains and lighted our Christmas tree. I wish you could have seen our tree. I wish you could have seen our tree. It is a pretty fir in a pot. Daphne decorated it with "angels" hair, and strings of cranberries, and tinsel, and candles. It's about four feet high, and a reg'lar picture.
