an anniversary gift. She says it is to "shoo the chickens away" by lettings the world know I'm married. Isn't such jealousy a treasure? Anyway, I'm delighted at having the ring. She gave me for Christmas a half-dozen beautiful linen handkerchieves and a dress-scarf, with embroidered monograms, a tie, and a Spanish gold tie-pin. I gave her a basket of roses in honor of the anniversary and for Christmas a bottle of perfume, an ivory bracelet, and money which is to go for linen or china. We gave Rosa a necklace and some money. The box of things you wrote of sending hasn't arrived, but no doubt it will soon. Nor have we received the things from the folks at C.R. So we'll have an aftermath of Christmas. Owing to the fact that ships didn't get away on schedule we're afraid our gifts for you may be late - particularly the package for dad. But when they do arrive you'll know we
