didn't forget you before Christmas. We had our big dinner as a Christmas Eve affair last night. Betty and her man, Mr. Fry, were our guests. We served them grape fruit, roast goose, browned potatoes, cranberry sauce, apple with snow, cabbage salad, plum pudding, candy, nuts, fruit, coffee, and cigars (for us men). Then we lit the tree and distributed knick-knacks - a horse and cart to Mr. Fry, who is a coal man, a toy stove to Betty, and a cradle to me. Daphne gave Betty also a pair of stockings. They had brought us a big bunch of carnations, a box of cigars, and a little knit coat and booties for the prospective baby. They were very nice in wishing well for the Great Day.
