If Mutt were with me it would help lots but I wouldn't think of letting her travel in the winter, and I hate the idea of her seeing the things in Paris that become so ordinary & commonplace to most people. I have nobody but Rosa. She is good hearted, but so rabbit-brained. She tries to do all she can to make me comfortable, bless her heart, and gave up a Christmas visit to her brother because I felt badly. Sometimes I hear her singing, 'way back in the kitchen, and it reminds me of how Mutt used to go about singing at her work. Oh Dooley! Dooley! I get so homesick sometimes for all of you! A couple of times I have howled and yowled at Conger, insisting that we go home. He always says we'll do what ever I wish, but at the same time
