Saving...
to you were not horribly late. We timed them alright, but the blooming ships didn't leave on schedule. All the mail is so uncertain. Just think! We had notice b/4 Thanksgiving of Conger's suits being in customs, and the box had failed to reach Paris yet. I was in hopes we'd have that fruit cake for New Years, at least. Perhaps it will come for my birthday. Eats are at a low par with me just now. This last week I've lived on rice and apples. Am dying for tomato soup, but of course none is to be had in France. Write often and tell me all your trouble so I wont think about mine. Will try to write Martha tomorrow. Heaps and heaps of love to each one, and a Very Happy New Year - Daphne.
