Fri July 3 a nice cool day I scrubed baked 2 pies & one cake patched socks & pants iam almost sick to day sat July 4 A nice day isn't very hot we all went to Elgin to celebrate had a real nice time we was all there but (?) John Johnson got run over by a (illegible) dident get hurt very bad sun July 5 I got home at 4 this morning & slept all day I feel horid mon July 6 has been real warm day I picked raspberries Will is cutting hay was the first to day Irene Patterson went to strawberry point to work to day it rained turriable at 5 oclock this Eve & turned real cool Tues July 7 has been affal cold all day we had fire to keep warm I ironed baked
