sun Aug 9 A fearful hot day I went to Linies & Lina & family came there we had a good time we girls all went over to C Larisans a little while Mary Wickham came home to day I killed a snake comeing home Mon Aug 10 Another hot day I washed Mother went to J Kohlers this afternoon he gave her some Tetaska apples we had lots of lightning & thunder but no rain to speak of but the air is lots cooler & nice to sleep Tues Aug 11 A nice day not so warm has been a little cloudy this morning we finished cutting oats at noon today father & Wallace went to the show at Elgin Mother & I canned 12 qts of apples & one qt of blackberries I ironed patched some Bill went to the show to night Wed Aug 12 A real nice day not very warm
