20. Science Adventure Stories ******************************************************* From the New York Star-Examiner, August 12, 19__: EMINENT SCIENTIST A SUICIDE Martin G. Rallman, M.D., of __ Central Park West, was found dead of a bullet wound in his temple early this morning. He was discovered lying across the threshold of his weird laboratory by his brother, Vinton S. Rallman. The gun -- which belonged to the deceased, and had been carried around by him for the last couple of days, according to his brother -- was lying nearby. "I can't imagine why he killed himself," Mr. Rallman said. "He was loved by the entire household." A curious feature of the case was the actions of Mr. Rallman's pet Chimpanzee which, during the investigation, seemed most interested inall that went on. Its cage was only a foot or two away ### from the body. In fact, its fingerprints were found on the gun, over those of the doctor. Probably, after Rallman shot himself, the monkey handle the gun in curiosity. Naturally, to suggest that the animal was the killer--as did one reporter--is preposterous. . . . THE END
