Dear Earl & Ruth - I can't say enough to thank you for all the kindnesses you showed us in Mason City. It was truly old times, as Sal and I have said a hundred times to each other - there's no family life in the world that is more enjoyable to be a part of, than that belonging to the Halls. Each time that I see you people, I'm more than ever grateful of the privilidge of having known you so well for all these years. Washington called last night. My CIAA job has already developed, as I told you, and they are anxious to complete the final arrangements this will probably come after I get to New York to see what is cooking there. In the meantime, of course, I'm in as much of a stew as ever.
