GENERAL HEADQUARTERS SOUTHWEST PACIFIC AREA Thanksgiving Day 43 Dear Halls Many thanks for your thoughtful and most welcome Christmas remembrance. You'll forgive me, I hope, for going at it long before the proper day, but the good Lord only knows where one will be then. I'm just down from seven straight months in Guinea and having some difficulty with the habits of civilization, but we'll be out of it again shortly. The best kind of a Christmas to all of you.
