ciate consideration and vote. I am against any attempts at fan government; believe in persuasion rather than force as a means to legitimate ends; want to see that the NFFF is a functioning organization capable of, and giving much, to its members. While not radical in believing where and how the organization should stand, I am progressive and will listen to all ideas. -Dale Tarr DIRECTORS I would like to run for one of the "Directors" position in the coming election. As to platform, all I can say is, "I'll do my best to make the NFFF the organization for all Fandom. -James V. Taurasi I wish to enter my name as a candidate for member of the Board of Directors of the NFFF during the next year. I have been a member of the NFFF for a year not and an active fan for about the same length of time. I feel that I've gotten onto the wants and ideas that the membership of this large organization. I have no definite platform but I have a few ideas, simple enough, of what I'd do in office. First, though, I don't say that I would make a better officer than present officers, but I do believe that I would be more active and tend to my duties at all times, where some of our present Directors didn't. One of the first things I'd recommend as a Director (and I recommend it in any case) would be to shelve plans for future projects until already started, slow-moving, and bogged-down projects are revitalized and finished. Then start work on new ones. In the embryo stage now are such projects as Fan Directory, Who's Who and a Yearbook. But still, the Philcon Memory Book isn't completed and plans are under way for an American Torcon Edition. I also advocate more inter-member activity within the NFFF. Ways and means should be submitted by the members suggesting how this could be done. Don't just join and let it go at that! Be more than just a name on the roster, as many of you are! If means are lacking, that's what the Directors are for. Send ideas to them and let them work on them! If the National Fantasy Fan Federation is to be a completely active, smoothly-running organization, which it can be, there should be co-ordination and co-operation, not only among the Directors and other officers, but among the members too. I promise to devote my energies to the bringing about of my above statement and to co-operate fully with the rest of the Board of Directors if you see fit to take my word and give me your vote. It will be appreciated and you will get results. - Ed Cox My qualifications for the position of Director are not overwhelming. I am 27 years old, have been a fan since 1933, and am 100% for the N.F.F.F. If you want some one who will try his best to do a good job and who will take an interest in it, I'm your man. I have no personal axes to grind, and if you should elect me I will act (4)
