according to the wishes of the majority. It's your vote. However, win, loose or draw, I'll still be in there boosting the N.F.F.F. - Don Ford This will announce my candidacy for Director for 1949. As last year, my platform is answering all correspondence promply. You will know I am sincere when I tell you that I have half a file of Wonder Stories, and some of Unknown unread, due to keeping up with my fan-correspondence. And I am unmarried - no ball-and-chain holding me back. Right now I devote almost all my spare time to fanish matters. Also I feel very strongly that Fantasy and Science-Fiction should take their rightful place in Literature - respectavely. If N.F.F.F. continues to grow it can be the force to bring this about. I shall continue doing everything in my power to make it grow. - Harry B. Moore In filing for the position as one of the Directors of the NFFF, I have only one aim in view and that is to be of such service as I can to fans and collectors within our National and International organization. If elected, I will do my part in supporting an active and progressive program designed to reach more fans and collectors than ever before. I am personally in favor of the NFFF being more of a service agency for the fans, and it has this thought that caused me to publishing my Fantasy Publication Index and my Fantasy Writers Index through the NFFF. Several very worthy individuals have filed for the Directorate and other positions and we are certain to have a swell corps of officers for next year. - Darrell C. Richardson I herewith apply for reelection to the Board of Directors. I believe that my record of action in the past year will show that I have always done what I thought was best for the club, and to the best of my ability. I have answered all club correspondence within three days of it reaching me. I have suggested at least six ideas of my own that I felt would help or improve the club. I have backed at least six other ideas suggested by other members - such as the Year Book, and a Club Library.(I might say all most all these ideas have been ignored, or received only passing comment.) I personally sponsored Moffatt and Woolston in their idea for a Fan-census.(A idea that seems to be lost in red tape.) I wrote a number of letters to other officers urging them to faster action on matters before them. Ore merely to get their ideas on things. The only result seems to have been to get Perry to resign. He explained that he engaged in a political campaign, and didn't have the time to devote to the club. If reelected I can only promise to do my best. I will encourage new ideas and projects. I will suggest ideas both on improving and inlarging the club. I will as in the past, place NFFF work above all other fan activity, and will do my best to work in harmony with all the other officers. As I have at the time, and expect to in the future, to have quite a bit of spare time, I feel I can devote a good deal of time to the club. Something others do not seem able to do. I would also like to indorse the candidacy of Len Moffatt. As a neighbor and a friend I have come to know him as a quiet young man (5)
