and cloth-bound. The text is to be a facsimile of the handsome first edition published in France in English!). In addition, as previously announced, this first American edition contains a new article by Keller, never before published. One retrenchment has proved necessary: we very much regret that the handsome design for the dust-jacket drawn by Frank Wilimezyk cannot be used. A simpler type of dust-jacket will probably be substituted. In other respects, the format will not only equal that originally planned, but in some ways will actually be superior. We confidently expect THE SIGN OF THE BURNING HART to be a handsome addition to your library -- even though the format cannot compare in beauty with the story itself! Remember: this NFFF edition is the first appearance of this classic novel in America, and is limited to only 250 autographed copies. As announced at the Torcon, the NFFF is now SOLD OUT. If you've delayed ordering, you may still be able to get copies from dealers or a few fans who ordered several copies. But you'd better hurry, before the price starts going up! Probably our Secretary-Treasurer, K. Martin Carlson, can give you some tips on who has copies for sale. On behalf of the Book Publishing Committee -- K. Martin Carlson,Sam Moskowwitz, Harry Warner, Bob Tucker, and myself -- I'd like to offer apologies for the long delay on the "HART", together with assurances that when you do receive your copy you'll find the book well worth waiting for. Probable publication date: the latter part of November. - Paul Spencer Chariman, NFFF Book-Com N3FORUM The Voice of The Members! Tom Moulton 15 Fordway Ave,Layton,Blackpool,Lancashire,Eng Dear Ray, Just a few lines to thank you for the copies of the NFFF magazine received to date, and to advise you that future issues should be mailed to my new address, as at the head of this letter. As far as my limited acquaintance with U.S. fan magazines extends, I should say that your production is well above the general standard as regards the quality of contents and typography, and is always a pleasure to receive and read. As a newcomer to the NFFF ranks (thanks to the good offices of John Koestner) I am abstaining from taking part in the ballot, though my own opinion is that no change is necessary either in the constitution or name of the organization. Mrs. Keller, int he February issue, just about covers my own opinion on the subject, so I will say no more. Kind regards -- and keep up the good work! Ed. note - Many thanks for those kind words. I'm so pleased that you like our OO. Write again -- anytime! (9)
