through work I was in no condition to write letters. I've been up at work until after two a number of times and hardly ever turn in until well after midnight. I've had fairly good luck, though. I got 97% in my exam on Tactical Use of Automatic Rifles and the Gas instructor said my papers were "about the best that have been turned in". That helps a little, you know, for if a man knows he's getting the stuff it doesn't make any difference how much it takes, and it is very gratifying to see the way our men are eating up this stuff. We are almost ready to go overseas and I'd be willing to put our outfit up against any in Germany after three weeks work in special training such as we expect to get in France. I am getting pretty wild to get over there as this staying around here and learning stuff merely to be able to write it down again doesn't make much of a bit with me. What I want to know is how much of this stuff I can
