Officers Club of Mayen Fiftieth U.S. Infantry American Forces in Germany Mayen (Rheinland) Germany November 28, '20 Dear Karl - Was mighty glad to hear from you last week and get all the dope. Things over here are about as usual. I am still running the Sales Commissary, altho I expect to turn it over to Lt. Cornell next week while I go down through Switzerland to Italy and back to Paris, fly across to London, look over the "tight little island" for a short time and then spend a day or so in Antwerp & Brussels. Quite a schedule for three weeks, isn't it? This trip is not yet a certainty but I have my company commander's O.K. on it and think my request for leave will go through all right. If it doesn't I'll be going in January any way, I think. The trip is the thing I've been looking forward to ever since I came over here and I expect to have a wonderful time. If my writing doesn't look quite natural it's because my thumb is all done up in a bandage. Got it torn up a little out deer hunting the other day. It's not a wound I'd think twice about back
