[1917] Dear Miss Williams - I was very glad to get your bunch of news. Le Grand Byington gets an Iowa City paper but it so seldom has anything in it that I don't read it much. It is good to hear that Marie is sure of her degree, she certainly deserves it. Give Knock my best greeting. I had not known that he was in school this summer. How is his family? Are there any other old-timers there? It certainly would be good to get back in the lab. again. At present, however, the prospects are not good. There is a lot to be done before I make any new plans at all. All I do now is wait for orders. When I wrote that
