account I almost wish I might be in the Reserves so as to be in Des Moines for six or eight months. The regulars, however, are sure to get to France much sooner than the Reserve Officers with the draft so that I'll get there before the Kaiser really does abdicate. A few optimistic souls here are hoping they won't have to go to France at all, but they show poor insight, I believe. Since I won't get a furlough after camp I am going to try to get a leave of absence for the week-end at the last of July. There are several matters I need to look after in both
