September 24 Dear Miss Williams- I've been wondering for some time why I received so few letters. The answer came to me in a flash Saturday when I realized that I had gone for a week without even writing to Mother. Your letter in my writing pad doesn't look as though it had been answered on time so I'll fly at it. ( Just see how systematically I reply to your paragraphs.) "Uncle Robert" is known by the differentiating title of "Uncle Lieut. Bob" as he is not the only Uncle Robert the [hurling?] youngster is blessed (?) with. I was not consulted in the christening but surely would have protested if there had been any attempt at Roberting another Browning. There are
