Saving...
I had almost a week away from the range and got to drill four days. The students were in trenches too close to the range so we help our firing for them. It was rather good to get acquainted with the company a bit and it stimulated a desire in me for a bit more earnest and enthusiastic delving into books. I've been neglecting my studies too much lately and must reform. I had a card from Louis Penningroth last week. He made a date with me somewhere in France in 1919. Hope we're both out of there before then. I don't expect to go over before Spring, now, and some of our officers look for Peace by that time. Is that too optimistic, altogether? It won't make me mad if they stop the war right away -- if they can arrange for the only acceptable peace terms. Has anything definite or decisive been done at Iowa in connection with Major Yerkes Corps of Psychologists
