October 24:17 Dear Miss Williams - My visit has become a pleasant memory now but I am awfully glad I got to see you again. After I left you I went out to Dr. Faris' and had a good visit with him. He urged me to take up the study of French intensively and gave me his French Testament. I've read a few chapters in it and am finding it more difficult than I had expected. Mother is going to send a Grammar and Dictionery so I'll go after it in earnest soon. I find several puzzling constructions in 'most every chapter - and I had thought I could read French as well as the average Freshman. I'm reforming now, however.
