Minneapolis. I commanded a platoon and succeeded in keeping in step most of the time. While we were at mess this noon fire broke out in the third Bn. officers' quarters and before we could put much water on it practically all the equipment of some fifteen officers' was burned. They are surely out of luck. Most of them are young officers who have just equipped themselves. The rest of us are now ready to take out a little insurance. My visit to Iowa City was as satisfactory as I should have expected. Ii do not plan to be in town again until after the War. It seems - oh, I'll let you finish this paragraph yourself.
