Ralston Hotel Columbus, Georgia [1919] Infantry School of Arms Camp Benning, Columbus, Georgia Dear Miss Williams - After two weeks at the "Graduate College" here I'll tell you all about it. There are about a hundred eighty officers here, half a dozen majors of infantry and cavalry, half a dozen or so second lieuts and the rest about evenly divided between captains and first lieuts. All are regulars and a lot of 'em are "Pointers." The school will last about four months, during which time we will divide our time between labor and refreshment about like this: - Reville, 6:00 a.m. School call 6:50. Recall 11:00 a.m. School call 12:50 p.m. Recall 5:00 Lecture or study in the lecture hall 5:00 - 6:00 School call 6:50. Lecture or critique until 9:00. Saturdays we are through by noon and have no more formations until Monday morning, but can't sleep out of camp unless we get permission to go to Atlanta or Birmingham or some place at a distance. It's a great life. Like the last week before ex's back in school. I had planned to get out of the Service in time to go to Ames either this fall or for summer school, so as to start work towards the little grey house in the
