50th Inf. 2nd Brig. A.F.G. A.P.O. 927A Mayen, Germany 26 Sept. 1920 Dear Miss Williams:- Howdy? Haven't heard from you for so long that I must write again to find out whether you know my address or not. I suppose you are frightfully busy as usual, but hope that you can afford the time for a communique straight from the front. Isn't it thrilling to think of being kilometers and kilometers within the border of an enemy country? Not a bit. What news of the old crowd? I've read in the Alumnus that Dr. Gaw has left. Are any of the other doctors yet? Gould? Is anybody working on advertising? Where are Hanson and Ericsow and Reams? Sodergren? Where? What? Is Nesta still in the school of music? How many in "[psi] 1" this year? Earl says the football prospects are excellent. Tell me all about things there, please. Are there any new faces in the department faculty? I've been going with the stream all year, and am not much nearer resigning now that I was. Twenty six hundred base pay with the two hundred extra for overseas service is hard to drop. I'm putting a little in the bank regularly and seeing scraps of Europe occasionally so I can't seem to let go right now. I don't seem to feel satisfied with the Army future but at the same time I don't see any crying
