the least you people can do is to mark and return them promptly. Briney's and Close's poetry 'zine, CATACLYSM, is out again---send a dime to Bob for a sample issue.... The MACABRE announced last issue is now BIZARRE, and the first issue is out. Best thing is an interview with Mack Reynolds. Poor cover by Maneval, and above-average stories---none bad, none exceptional. 15[[cent symbol]], 75[[cent symbol]] a year, and worth it, from T. Covington, 315 Dawson St., Wilmington, N.C.... EXPLORER, 0-0 of the INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE-FICTION CORRESPONDENCE CLUB, most progressive club of the present age, has shown up; 'tis excellent. One of the best mimeographed 'zines published. 50[[cent symbol]] per year, or join the ISFCC for that much; Ed Noble, Girard, Pa.... NEKROMANTIKON #3 features a five-color printed cover and a 28,000 word story, TWILIGHT FELL AT CAMELOT (based on the Arthurian legends) by M. Houston. 25[[cent symbol]] each, and better than WEIRD TALES and some others; from Manly Banister at 1905 Spruce Ave., Kansas City 1, Mo.... ODD, with a printed Arfstrom cover, at 15[[cent symbol]] each from Duggie Fischer, Jr., 1302 Lester St., Poplar Bluff, Mo., is good in spite of poor typing (and a new method of cutting off words, as illustrated); this may turn out to be the successor to SPACEWARP. Other zines have arrived, but space is limited. We are considering running articles---four or five a year---in the future, now that so many fiction 'zines exist, making it unnecessary, and actually foolish, to continue our present restrictive policy. ---THE EDITOR ASSAY REPORT For the July issue---only ten votes! Tsk! Pritch Littlechip seemed a bit too complicated, even for s-f fen. Only one person did not give THE MASTERS OF LOUAEN a first-place vote. The others were nearly tied. PLACE STORY AUTHOR POINTS (1) THE MASTERS OF LOUAEN ANDREW DUANE 1.2 (2) ETERNAL PUNISHMENT DON MARTIN & TED BLAKE 2.3 (3) VIRTUE WILL TRIUMPH ED NOBLE 2.5 And the September issue---and here only EIGHT votes!! It flew in my window, laughed with glee And proudly swung its tail--- "Please don't be afraid," it whispered to me; You see, I'd started to wail! "I know lots of games, we'll have some fun, Just wait, I'll show you soon---" So we played and played till the rise of sun And the slow wane of the moon. At cock-crow he cried, "I'd like a treat!"
