Saving...
THE SKY HERMIT Dedicated to H. Warner Munn... E. Theodore Pine Aloft...in lonely solitude he dreams; His tower on beetling cliff's edge meets the sky. And winds and clouds and birds drift endless by. But when the full round golden new moon gleams He bars the windows from its mellow beams: For there is SOMETHING that he dreads (they say) Awaits in silent terror, day by day; Yet ever strives to thwarth [thwart] this horrir's scmes [schemes] When youth' aplomb I scaled the cliff one night... When coming near I saw a window's light A'sudden darkened by a monstrous wing, I heard the gibbering laughter of the THING; Boldly I entered...shrieking ran pell-mell: And what I saw that night I dare not tell
