FORT SNELLING LIFE TO BE NO VACATION [Snelling?] Men Have to Bounce Out at 5:30 and Drill, and Then Drill Some More, Until Night. Sixteen hours a day of drilling and study will be the lot of the boys at Fort Snelling. From 5:30 in the morning until 9:15 at night they will follow a schedule of hard work laid out for them by the officers in charge. Captain Mumma brought with him when he returned from his Sunday visit at Fort Snelling a copy of the program. It provides for reveille and first call at 5:30 a march at 5:40, assembly at 5:45 with physical drill immediately afterward, breakfast at 6:15, sick call at 6:30, drill from 7 to o'clock to noon according to schedules arranged from week to weeg, dinner 12:30, drill from 1:30 to 5:45, retreat at 6 supper at 6:05, study from 7 to 9 . All lights must be out in squad rooms at 9:45 and no talking will be allowed. Lights will be permitted in recreation and dining rooms until 11 o'clock. At 10:45 all men must go quietly to squad rooms. At 11 o'clock men must be in bed. Non-commissioned officers in charge of quarters will extinguish lights and check the men in bed, reporting the result to the officer of the day.
