American Forces May be In Front Trenches in Week Aptness of Men in Pershing's Army Makes Early Movement to Battle Zone Possible. (By Special Cable to the Pioneer Press.) American Field Headquarters in France, Aug. 5. -American forces may be in the trenches within a week. The quick adaptability and aptness shown by Pershing's common in learning the art of trance warfare has made possible the advanced instruction which comes last before men are sent to the front lines. Plans are now being made where and when to send the men forward to the battle lines. The officers have keen given special instruction in the art of war and the progress made has been a subject of much comment on the part of Marshal Joffre and other French leaders observing the work in the American camp.
