London, Wednesday. - Many public bequests, most of them prompted by kindness shown to him in the past, were left by Colonel Charles Ford, founder of the national Reserve, who died on February 4 aged seventy-two, and whose estate has been proved at [pound sign] 32,776.He was a former mayor of Portsmouth, his home being at Southsea. He desired that his ashes, after cremation, should be put in a Union Jack and buried in the sea off Portsmouth, his funeral not to be marked by any "dismal trappings."
Among other wills are: -
Mr. William John Porritt, aged 64, of St. Annes-on-the-Sea, lancs, and of Red Hall, Ballycarry, Antrim, Ireland ... [pound sign] 340,840
