Saving...
(3) Banks and Newton. On at 5.23, 11 min, in 1; 3 shows. The comedian of this act is a very good performer, much better than his straight man. Both of them are fine dancers, but the stage appearance of the big fellow is against him. Act is thoroughly O.K. as a 3-a-day and should make good in the number two spot anywhere. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Tracy. On at 5.34, 11 min, full stage; 3 shows. presenting a rural comedy sketch. All right for the 3-a-day section. They cut 5 minutes out of the act this afternoon, as the show was running over time. Harriet Jones. On at 3.43, 9 min, in 1; 3 shows. Rather a pretty girl, with a fairly good voice. There is nothing about her, however, that will make her any better than most of the five hundred or more single women baladists in 1. Perhaps she is a little better than the average, but not enough for her to hold a spot on the 2-a-day show. Cuts:- Keeley Brothers. Thumb to nose. Comment. When this show gets going smoothly, I think it will give great satisfaction. It has several novelties and quite a lot of comedy.
