KINOGRAMS & "TOPICS OF THE DAY" - Pictures very good and "Topics got a lot of laughs.
RICHARDS - (9 mins.) - He has not played here in several years. Did faily well as an opener. Did four dances and closed to a fair hand. Good impersonation.
FISCHER & GILMORE - (14 mins.) - A singing comedy turn by a man and woman. Songs are nicely handled and comedy got a lot of laughs. Did nicely in this spot, closing to a good hand.
"Ye Song Shop" - (23 mins.) - New girl act with seven girls and two men. Old and new songs played up by girls appearing in elaborate costumes. A big flash and went over very well.
DAISY NELLIS - (10 mins.) An act for lovers of high class music as she plays only classical numbers. A very good pianist. At least one popular number would have helped. Very attractive young girl and was given a good hand.
MORTON & GLASS - (16 mins.) Same act they have been doing for the past year or more. Comedy got a lot of laughs and they finished to a very good hand with their ragtime dance number.
BOBBE & NELSON - (20 mins.) - One of the big applause hits of the show. Comedy got plenty of laughs but it was their singing that scored the big hit.
HAIG & WALDRON - (15 mins.) Went into the bill Tuesday night, closing the show for that performance and did fine, holding them in and closing strong. A very creditable performance under the conditions.
SWIFT & KELLEY - (19 mins.) Got over nicely in the next to closing spot. Use good comedy talk and a couple of songs that brought them good returns. Material well handled. A good size applause winner.
GRUBER'S ANIMALS - (11 mins.) A very showy animal act that filled the closing spot in good shape. Contains an elephant, pony, horse and a dog. A very good routine of tricks.
GENERAL REMARKS - After losing Mlle. Sylva, our headliner, through illness, we put in Anna Held, Jr. Monday night. Her assistant was taken ill Tuesday and we finally got Haig & Waldron to finish the week. When the bill was finally running in the above order it furnished a very satisfactory show. Several of the acts were shifted two and three times and all did commendable work under the conditions.
