REPORT OF BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I., Monday, tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 27, 28 and 29. GENE & MYRTLE CONROY--- Showing new style in Steps. Man and woman in a series of fast dances--both soft and hard shoes--make three changes of costume. 10 min. in one; went good. HANK BROWN & CO.--- In "Come Here, Come Here"--Comedy Skit full of comical saying and actions--man and woman; singing, talking and a little dancing, the features of this act is the way it is put over that went big with the audience. 15 min. street. MAXWELL QUINTETTE--- Present "A Night At The Club"--Scene is laid in a club room--all have good voices and the ensemble singing is full of breezy abandon and informality. 15 min. full. Went good. [Illegible signature] Sept 23rd. 1920 Report on the Scenic show last half of week. Arthur Terry. The Talking Cowboy. Has a good line of chatter, on the order of the old act of Will Rogers. went good this afternoon. 8 min. in 1 Mayo & Nevine. Piano & Singing. Rather a clean cut act, both the Woman & Man have good voices, deserved better consideration from the audience than they got today. 14 min in 1. Eddie Cassidy. Blackface Comedian. Some new and a lot of old gags that went big. Sings a couple of Irish songs and a couple of Irish recitations that went big. Act as a whole went very good. Married by Wireless. Splendid Mechanical & Scenic Effects, plenty of good comedy and fair singing. Act got several rounds of applause during the change of the mechanical effects. 21 min in full stage. Spec scenery.
