PROVIDENCE. R. I.   E. F. ALBEE   MARCH 7th, 1921
As a whole we have a good bill this week. The audience evidently enjoyed it, some of the acts did particularly well.
CHAS. LOVENBERG.
NATHAN BROTHERS; Head and hand balancing and acrobatic act, with a little touch of comedy. About as good an act of the kind as we have ever played. Made a splendid start for the show. 6 min. in two.
JACK JOYCE: One legged song and dance man and talking comedian. This young man has a fine personality, dances well, but a good deal of his talk has too much of the give my your kind applause, which is entirely unnecessary, and the act would be improved 100% if he would listen to a little bit of advice, but he has as great a case of swell head as I have ever met in my life, nevertheless the act is a big hit. 10 min. in one.
NORTON & NICHOLSON: In their famous dramatic cartoon called "Ella's Alright". First time we have played them in a number of years and they went like new. A big laughing hit. 20 min. full stage.
DOLLY KAY [AS Dolly?]  Miss Kay went very well at the first performance when she had quite a number of blue lines, but when they were deleted, she failed to score so strongly. Not a bad act, but rather coarse and to my mind lends nothing to vaudeville. First performance, 13 min, second performance 11 min. in one.
MME. BESSON & COMPANY: In J. M. Barrie's play "HALF AN HOUR" - A very fine sketch, very well rendered and highly appreciated. A little more of this sort of thing and we would be back to our old standard of vaudeville. 35 min. full stage.
MILLER & MACK: Same act they have been doing for the past two or three years which went fairly well. 13 min. in one.
VERNON STILES: Operatic tenor who was one of the big hits of the show. 16 min. in one.
FINK'S MULES - Ponies, dogs and monkeys: Corking good lively animal act, which held the audience well and made a fine finish to a good vaudeville bill. 10 min. full stage.
CUTS: JACK JOYCE:- "What the Devil?" - "What the Hell?" - and asking the audience to come around back stage to get a glass of whiskey.
DOLLY KAY:- "Conscience be my guide and make me behave" - Theda's bare and Beckey's barer." - Use of the word Jack Ass. and suggestive movements.
MME. BESSON & COMPANY:- Cut "Damn and please have the lady wear somewhat higher bodice.
FINK'S MULES:- Have colored man pay carefull attnetion in business of losing trousers and not get them too far down.
