REPORT OF BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I., Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, December 5, 6 and 7. McRae & CLEGG--- Man and woman. In "The Intruder and the Queen of the Wheel". This is a very neat act--woman rides straight; man introduces the comedy. Received a few light hands thro act, also the same at finish. 8 min. full. MURPHY & LOCKMAR--- Man & woman. In a comedy skit entitled "The Laugh Trust"--Talking, and plenty of laughter on their part, but little with the audience--close with a song. Went very weak. 10 min. in one. [Signature: A.S. Watson] REPORT OF BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I., Thursday, Friday and Saturday, December 8, 9, and 10. THELMA DE ROMA--- Novelty Trapeze Artist. Six minutes of rapid work on the trapeze. Received a fair hand through act and same on finish. PEGGY BROOKS--- Singing Comedienne. Singing and telling Scotch stories--Peggy could get her stories over with telling effect as she had the "brogue" with her. Received number of laughs through her act, also hands and a big hand at finish. Responded twice to encore. 12 min. in one. INTERNATIONAL REVUE--- Seven men. Dressed to represent different nationalities. "A New creation in Minstrelsy"--A blend of song and humor. This act did not go over as strong as I thought it would--only received a light hand through act and same at finish. 20 min. full. [Signature: A.S. Watson]
