Report on show Keith's Theatre, Providence, R. I., Week of October 19, 1903. (Charles Lovenberg) Show as a whole is very satisfactory although we could stand a little more strong comedy. Stereoptican. As usual. Nesson & Nesson. Club jugglers. Nice little three a day act while not at all startling. Their work is pleasing and should be rated from a three a day standpoint as fairly good. 12 min. close in one, three shows. Tanner & Gilbert. Comedy act, "rube kid and soubrette". Very tame offering. 14 min. open full stage. close in one, 3 shows. Alf Holt. Whistling mimic, imitator of familiar sounds, presents his act in an eccentric make-up and has a pretty good personality. At three shows a day he may be rated as good. 12 min. in one. La Belle Dazie. Toe Dancer. Her work is exceptionally good. As clever as any I know of but some how or other failed to make a hit. Some of her actions might also be questioned for this circuit and I shall certainly have her "cut" some of them here. 8 min. full stage, 2 shows. Smith & Bowman. Colored act after the style of Cole & Johnson. For a three a day act it is above the average and from any standpoint may be called good. 13 min. open in two close in one. Al [Treloar? Trelear?]. Strong man assisted by Miss Edna Tempest. This act opened with some dancing by both and musical display by the man and exhibition of strength. It is far from a strong act in my estimation but is all right at the salary. 12 min. in three. 3 shows. Howley & Leslie. In their familiar act which went first rate. 17 min. in one, 3 shows. Charles H. Bradshaw & Co. Dramatic sketch "Fix in a Fix". Has some good comedy situations and got a great many laughs although it drags in spots. The act is not exceptional but good. 27 min. in three, 2 shows. Dorothy Neville. Stories and imitations. She went very well indeed. It is a more desirable act for this house than Jessie Couthoui. 12 min. in one. George Primrose & Foley Twins. There is no question as to the drawing power of this act and it will be worth for a single week all we pay him. While it is very clever and some good dancing is presented we could of course, from a standpoint of merit do much better for $150. still of course, the name counts and as long as it draws the money we shall be satisfied still I would not care to repeat the act. 14 min. in three, 2 shows. Stuart Barnes. Monologue. Very good. 22 min. in one, 2 shows. Geo. B. Snyder & Harry Buckley. Musical comedy act far away the hit of the show. For this house this is the best act of its kind we play. 23 minutes closing with about 5 min. in 1, 2 shows. Stelling & Revelle. I can't see this act for the money at all. At one-half the salary I would rate them very good; as it is they fall very short. 8 min. full stage, 2 shows. Biograph. Good collection of views.
