LAURA BURT-2-This was Miss Burt's initial appearance in vaudeville in this house since she was leading lady for Henry Irving, consequently her work was watched with a great deal of interest. She opened with Field's "Seeing Things at Night" then gave the monologue which she formerly did 1. THE MAN OF THE HOUR. Simple little picture that pleases the ladies in our audience. COMMENT:- Our show this week is quite an improvement over that of last, and with two names like Lafayette and Laura Burt, we will undoubtedly do a lot of business. We have billed Lafayette like a circus, and the matinee audience to-day was the largest Monday matinee I have seen in this house outside of a holiday, all the seats and standing room being gone by 2 o'clock. While the rainy day was responsible ina measure, there is no question that the booming we gave Lafayette helped quite a lot. NOTE:- Lafayette at night went very good indeed with his protean act, and an absolute knockout with his travesty band.
