James T. Powers, 2 shows, 28 min. full stage--This man got quite an advance hand, and there is no doubt but that he drew us considerable business and will continue to do so. He opened with a monologue, which was spoiled by coming after Crawford. In fact, his whole act was handicapped coming after Crawford, as there is great similarity between the work of the two. He did not get a great deal of applause during any part of the act nor at the close, but I believe it was considerably accounted for in the above reason. Tonight I will close the show with him and keep him separated from Crawford also. Cut "Raise Hell" and "What to Hell". Smith and Campbell, 2 shows, 24 min. in 1--Terribly tough spot for these people and as a consequence good many people went out. They have some new material since they were here last and went very well in this spot. Still, I must shift them with Crawford. Waterbury Bros. and Tenny, 2 shows, 25 min. open in 3, close in 1--Well-known musical comedy team in a new piece called "Harmony island" Tenny makes the opening coming in in a boat run across the stage by ropes, and after considerable funny business, the other members of the team come in and go through their usual musical selections. Practically all their comedy material is new, the whole contributed by Tenny, and the act made good in spite of the fact that the show had considerably run over. Wotpert Trio, 2 shows, 9 min. full stage--European acrobats working with spring boards. Been described in the other houses. I shall be compelled to take these people out of this spot because of the fact that patrons were not held in. I will move them up the bill where it will get a better chance, and there is no reason why it should not prove a great act for this house. Kinetograph, 3 shows, 20 min. in 1--Showing the following list of interesting motion pictures; 1. Flags and Faces of All Races. Quite a fair picture which aroused considerable applause. 2. The Bill Poster. Good comedy film. 3. A Scene on the East Side, New York. Just fair picture. Texakansas and Walby, 3 shows, 13 min. in 1--Two women, making several changes of costume, in dancing specialties, with just enough singing to hold them together. One of the best 3-a-day girl dancing acts we have had in a long time from a dancing standpoint. It is worth booking for the 3-a-day section. Philbrook and Reynolds, 3 shows, 17 min. in 3 (Can close in 1, if necessary)--Man and woman in a German comedy sketch. Very little improvement since they were last here, when they were decidedly bad. Makes a little difference this week owing to the fact that we have plenty of show and are merely using them as time "fillers". Stereopticon, 3 shows, 5 min. in 1--Usual selection of interesting home and foreign views. Comment:- We had one of the biggest Monday afternoon audiences of the winter and they were awakened early. I have every reason to believe that "Jimmie" Powers contributed largely towards this end, for after his turn a good many patrons got up and left the house. The show, as a whole, is a good one, the weak spots in the bill do not amount to much, owing to the fact that it will be a simple matter to hide them.
