Saving...
Grant & Hoag. Talking and singing act. Went well up to a certain point, then rather fell down. I don't believe that the audience had any idea that Mr. Grant was through, and for that reason gave him insufficient applause, to come back, which defect will be remedied hereafter and I know the act will hold its place all right. Gave 15 min. this afternoon, usual act 20 min. in 1, 2 shows. HOUDINI. He gave his regulation work this afternoon, with Hand-cuffs and Trunk trick. Best thing he has done for us so far, was to cause an advance sale that has wiped everything out of the Box Office for the entire week. 20 min. full stage, 2 shows. Motion Pictures. O.K. Whitely & Bell. I wonder where these people have been for the last twenty-five years? They rang in a lot of songs and jokes that were old when I went into the business, and I hate to tell when that was. The act is that of a man and a woman, Dutch, woman straight, a little singing and dancing. 15 min. in 1, 3 shows. Not fit for anything better than opening the show.
