125TH STREET THEATRE CRITICIM E. F. ROGERS June 17, 1907 COAKLEY & MC BRIDE Black face comedy - Well Known - Material remains the same. They secured quite a number of good laughs and Coakley's dancing carried them off very strong. 17 minutes in one EDWIN STEVENS ASSISTED BY MISS TINA MARSHALL presenting a "NIGHT OUT". Well known. This man was accorded some little applause on his entrance. The sketch remains about the same as when seen here before. He secured quite a number of laughs and finished with some good applause. 30 minutes full stage, close in one about 5 m. HOLCOMBE, CURTIS & CO. In their vocal comedy "THE ALPHABET CLASS". Well known. The applause hit of the show up to this time. PAUL MC ALLISTER & CO Four men and a woman in the romantic play "JOHN OF GASCONY" I hardly think this act suitable for my other house except for a stock favorite, therefore description is unnecessary. It is mostly dramatic with some few laughs. The jury liked it and gave him three curtains two bows, and two speeches. 36 min. full stage. LONEY HASKELL Received some little advance applause. His material remains about the same, old but well rendered. He certainly got the laughs and had them a-going from the start. 25 minutes in one. CARTER, TAYLOR & CO Man, woman and dog. Sketch entitled "AT CAMP REST". Rather tame, talky on the opening. Received some few laughs for the prop automobile. Rather disappointed, thought there was more comedy in the act. Just about got by. 18 minutes - full stage. Has been described in previous criticisms. Very nicely presented, fairly good voices, with a little element of novelty. Thought they were not strong enough for a close but they held their own and received a good lot of applause. At two hundred less it would be a good act. 13 minutes full stage. KINETOGRAPH A CLEVER DETECTIVE --- Dramatic, tells a good story. CATCHING THE KID ----- Good Comedy.
