N. S. Hastings. CLEVELAND, OHIO. MAR. 9 '08. KARTELLI In 3. Time 10. Slack wireist. Double hand balance, stands on head, climbs ladder and juggles, single hand balance, juggles a series of hoops. The act is a decided novelty most of the time, Kartelli never rests or leaves the wire. A hit. EMMA PARTRIDGE In one. Time 10. Miss Partridge has a beautiful voice and a stunning stage presence. She makes a big hit, classical selections and ballads. Al ALMONT and MLLE. DUMONT. C.D.F., close in 1. Time 18. They play various instruments well and keep the attention of the audience unusually fixed for this kind of an act. Two real encores. CLIFF BERZAC'S CIRCUS. Time 12. 3 ponies, 1 donkey, 2 men. F.S. Garden. Some very pretty tricks by the ponies. Then Maud, the unridable donkey is introduced. People are invited up from the audience. Maud does the rest. It is a genuine scream. The revolving tables are also unique and interesting. DAVE LEWIS In 1. Time 16. Most of his talk is good, some great, some a little stale. His singing is all good. He scored a big hit and took three bows. MAUD HALL and CARLETON MACY. Kitchen in 3. "The Magpie and the Jay." Time 22. Also Miss Jessie Dodd. A clever slangy sketch which went with a scream. There is little action and the success of the playlet is due entirely to the great Bowery slang lines which Miss Hall delivers. HARRY GILFOIL. Open C.D.F., close in 1. Time 17. Gilfoil's great creation of "Baron Sands" went with its usual applause. He is still doing a few imitations which take well. TAYLOR GRANVILLE in "The Star Bout." 3 special sets in 3, 2, and F.S. Time 27. Two women, 16 men. Highly melodramatic, the first two scenes are fair. The final scene showing the boxing match, "the Star Bout" gets the audience going in great shape. A great act for the gallery, although the entire house appeared to like it. THE KINETOGRAPH. 10.
