N. S. Hastings, CLEVELAND, OHIO. MAR. 16 '08. THE KRATONS (Harry and Ethelyn) F.S. Special showing miniature shops of various kinds. Time 13. In the center of the hoops tin figures are balanced representing policemen, shop girls etc. The hoops act out a clever little pantomime which proves a decided novelty. Then the Kratons appear and do some great trick rolling. ALF GRANT and Ethel HOAG In 1. Time 16. Singing and talking very good. They close with a melodrama travesty that is very funny and got the house going. COLLINS & HART Open in 1 for about a minute, then F.S. Time 12. Burlesque strong man. This act went with a scream from start to finish and is one of the best laugh bringers we have had for weeks. VILLAGE CHOIR In One. Time 16. Two men, two women. An enjoyable quartette, not startling, but less noisy than the average. A fair hit. MAUDE HALL-MACY & COMPANY. Poverty interior in 4. Time 24. 2 men, 1 woman. Presenting for the first time, "Mame's Professor." This is a much better sketch than "The Magpie and the Jay" or "A Timely Awakening". It has real heart interest and the little touch of pathos that rings true. The comedy parts give Maud Hall abundant opportunity to to use her "Ain't If Awful, Mabel" slang. 2 curtains. JOE FIELDS and MARK WOOLEY. In 1. Time 12. A good singing and talking act, for the most part brand new. Well received Monday afternoon. ROMANY OPERA COMPANY. Open in 1. Then F.S. special (very pretty), then close in 1. Time 27. 6 men, 4 women. The scene shows a Gypsy Camp and from this setting the various soloists and groups come forth and sing the popular selections from well known operas such as the Toreadore song, the Soldier's chorus etc. The general effect is highly artistic and the singers are all beyond criticism. Their voices are beautiful when used separately and the ensembles bring a burst of applause that is unusual in this house. The violin soloist, Rosa Garetti, plays beautifully. DAISY HODGINI (The original Miss Daisy.) Time 8. F.S. 2 men assistants. If Monday's performance is any criterion, Hodgini will never be a big vaudeville sensation. A great amount of stalling, and very little hard work and several stunning dresses makes the grand total of his act. A passingly fair reception but no cause for heavy billing. THE KINETOGRAPH. 21.
