Saving...
(2) The Four Bards. On at 3.36, 11 min, full stage. Scored their usual triumph, and again proved that they are unquestionably "America's greatest gymnasts". Have added two or three new tricks this season. Zelie de Lussan. On at 3.47, 13 min, in 2. Although not in as good voice as when here in November, Mme. de Lussan again showed that she is the greatest of all the operatic prima donnas vaudeville has ever known. She has a most magnetic personality, and her selections are admirably chosen. George Abel's English Farceurs. On at 4 o'clock, 28 min, full stage. Playing "Three Of A Kind". After the first two or three minutes the action is very fast and the situations arouse a lot of laughter. Held the audience remarkably well this afternoon. Bryce plays the part of the General in good shape, but I do not think Miss Sidney gets as much out of the part of Mrs. whimper as did Edith Arden (Mrs. Abel). Kinetograph. On at 2.38, 24 min. "Playmates"; a very good film, with a touch of the "heart interest" that appeals to a large proportion of an audience. "The Launching of the 'Roma'"; a capital "event" film. "The Troubles of a Grass Widower"; a very good comedy. Youna, assisted by Edyth Wardell. On at 4.52, 17 min, full stage; 3 shows; can close in 1, if necessary. Youna is an extremely clever juggler. The act is done in Japanese costume, and is worthy a much better place on the bill. It is much above par as a 3-a-day and will make good in any show. Pat Long. On at 5.09, 9 min, in 1; 3 shows. A neat-appearing young chap who does some real Irish dances in a capital manner. His jig and reel steps are quite unusual. Geraldine McCann and Company. On at 5.18, 15 min, full stage; 3 shows. Miss McCann is a clever little girl of about 16, who is assisted by her father and brother. The father is simply a prop. The girl and boy are both capital dancers. They are to do a dancing act in 1 for us the remainder of the week, as they have been moved up the bill in place of Francis and Rogers. Cuts:- M. Clermont, has been requested to omit having his rooster lay an egg. Geraldine McCann and Company. "Bitter end" gag. Comment. This show seemed to go very well with this afternoon's audience, although I consider it considerably short of an ideal program, as there are two or three acts in it that would never be missed. However, they are not in important spots, I am glad to state.
